Sharing the Health!

The Lung Association fought hard to win protections called the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards put in place in 2011. Since then, these protections have become a tremendous success story, each year prevent- ing up to 11,000 early deaths and 130,000 asthma attacks. They’ve also dramatically reduced dangerous mercury pollution, as well as known carcinogens and toxic acid gases. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is considering easing these standards for power plants.

Romey Struthers of Austin, TX has trouble with her oxygen cannula either breaking or becoming disconnected from her POC. At the hardware store she purchased a length of coiled plastic tubing and cut it to fit over the end of her cannula where it con- nects to her concentrator. Problem solved!
