The Breathing Disorders Sourcebook by Dr. Francis Adams

Dr. Adams, a Pulmonary Specialist, has written an excellent overview of diagnosis, cause and treatment options of many lung diseases, including hard-to-find material on pulmonary fibrosis and bronchiectasis.  He has included sections on pulmonary rehabilitation, medications, surgery, exercise, life-style modifications and many sources of help for COPD. Normal breathing mechanics and factors that cause shortness of breath are explained. Dealing with emotions, how anxiety should be treated, depression and if tranquilizers should be used are discussed.  Cost of the 236 page book is $17.00

Breathin' Easy Travel Guide by Jerry Gorby

Publisher Jerry Gorby found himself at the library while planning a 300 mile trip, trying to find a reference book on companies who sell oxygen. The only thing he could find was 500 telephone directories. Jerry saw the need and began to fill it, calling the companies one by one to verify that the businesses did indeed supply oxygen to travelers. After over 5,000 phone calls, 30% of the listings were eliminated. What was left, made up the listings of the first edition of Breathin’ Easy. Because of constantly changing company data, Jerry has updated the original guide. The guide also provides general useful information for the person traveling with oxygen.    $14.95
